What to expect

A bridge between ancient wisdom and modern medicine

It can be hard to be a human living in a body that was designed for a world which no longer exists.

Our bodies are playing catch-up to adapt to the stressors of modern life, but there’s still a lot of wisdom we can glean from the ways that we used to do things, especially when we pair traditional knowledge with cutting edge science.

At Birch Avenue Botanicals, we do just that.

We offer private consultations (virtually available from wherever you are, and in-person in Victoria, BC, Canada) and customized evidence-based herbal treatment plans to support hormonal harmony and whole-body health.

We take the time to listen to you — the expert of your own body — and together discover the way forward towards your health goals. We listen to the story your body is telling us and teach you how to read it too, by developing what we call body literacy.

Support may include herbal teas, tinctures, capsules or nutraceutical supplementation as well as lifestyle and diet recommendations, along with high doses of encouragement and regular reminders for self-compassion. We’ll help you understand what’s going on, why it may be happening and what you can do to improve your experience being in your body.

Initial appointments are 90 minutes long and will include a thorough assessment of all of your body systems and personal medical history to discover underlying patterns and symptoms that will help determine the course of treatment. Thirty to sixty minute follow-up appointments are recommended two to four weeks after the initial consultation to check in and gauge progress.

Our goal is to give you the information and support you need to find your way through the confusion, overwhelm and frustration that often go hand-in-hand with hormonal issues to feeling empowered, connected and at home in your body.

Appointments can be booked individually, or as a part of a comprehensive wellness package (see below).
